hi. iām read.
I'm a parent of two teenagers, an outdoor adventurer, and the founder of Take Root Mentorship.
I believe every young person deserves a trusted adult in their corner, someone who listens without judgment, encourages healthy challenges, and helps them discover what they're capable of.
As a parent, I've experienced firsthand both the beauty and the complexity of raising teens in today's world. Young people are navigating pressures that no generation has faced before, and many lack meaningful opportunities to disconnect from screens, connect with nature, and build relationships with caring adults outside of their family.
Nature has been one of my greatest teachers. It has shown me that confidence grows through experience, resilience is built one challenge at a time, and some of life's most important lessons are learned outside.
Take Root Mentorship was created to bring those experiences to young people.
Through adventure-based mentorship, I help tweens and teens develop confidence, resilience, emotional awareness, leadership, and a deeper connection to themselves, others, and the world around them. Whether we're navigating a hiking trail, learning to rock climb, paddling across open water, or practicing mindfulness through yoga, every experience becomes an opportunity to build trust, courage, and lifelong skills.
My approach is grounded in trauma-informed principles and the belief that growth happens within the window of acceptance, where young people feel safe enough to be challenged, supported enough to succeed, and empowered enough to discover who they are becoming.
I don't believe young people need someone to fix them. I believe they need opportunities to be seen, trusted, encouraged, and challenged by adults who genuinely care.
It would be an honor to walk alongside your family as your young person builds the confidence to explore, the resilience to overcome obstacles, and the courage to take root in themselves and the world around them.
